Comment Policy for empoweringmeditations.com
I really don’t like censorship. I believe in the true spirit of free speech. People have the right to speak, even if you or I don’t like it. Right now, I can’t see how a website about meditating to better yourself could inspire heated debates but you never know.
So just in case, I ask you to keep these ideals in mind when commenting:
Believe it or not, it is entirely possible to completely disagree with someone’s ideas and beliefs and still treat them with dignity and respect. Do that.
Ask yourself if your comment actually contributes to the discussion in a positive way. If you’re just telling someone their idea “sucks”, that doesn’t help anyone. Express your reasons. Construct a well-formed argument and present it respectfully. That way we may all learn and grow from your contribution.
Try to stay on topic. I know that sometimes one idea spawns another and down the rabbit hole we go. I’m definitely guilty of that one. If there is something, in particular, you’d like to discuss and there is no post on that subject, maybe get in touch with me and make a suggestion. That way we can give a topic priority for all to read rather than it getting lost in a comment thread over time.
One rule I will adhere to is a zero tolerance for spammy and self-promoting comments. If you want to promote your product, service, website or anything on my website, get in touch with me directly and we can discuss the options. Any self-promoting comments will be deleted unless they clearly add value to the thread.
Do not use any copyrighted materials when posting comments. This includes images, text, movies, music, sounds, anything.
By posting your original comments on this website, you grant the author, James Cole, the non-exclusive right to reproduce your comment in any medium for any reason with no compensation.
