Dreams can be an effective tool for figuring out any emotional and psychological concerns you might be experiencing, as well as resolving problems and acquiring a much deeper understanding of self. Train yourself to become aware of your dreams, and then record them, either by memory or writing them in a journal. This then offers you the capability to evaluate your dreams.
Even though we do share common symbology on a societal level, the symbolic significances of dreams can vary deeply between each of us. When reading dream meanings, although they can sometimes fit, they are basically a very generalised definition based on somebody else’s concepts of what a dream implies. To truly analyse a dream’s significance, we have to go within and find our own significance.
A basic technique for evaluating dreams is to ask a repeated question for all of the elements within the dream.
“What is the purpose of each element?”
By asking this question in a light meditative state, your unconscious mind will supply the responses. All you have to do is listen without evaluating or censoring the thoughts that manifest in your mind. It is amazing what you can discover about yourself when evaluating your dreams in this basic method.
