As mentioned in the previous section, it is always a good idea to stand up and do some stretches after meditating to ensure you are fully awake and alert before continuing with your day. Always make sure you are fully alert before driving or putting yourself in situations that will require your full attention and competence.

It is also a good idea to keep a journal of your experience within the meditation. A meditative experience can be similar to a dream and disperse from your memory quite quickly after awakening. By keeping a journal of your experiences, you are training your mind to remember what has occurred. This will give you greater insight and understanding of yourself and any messages you receive.
